How UPI came to rescue
As they were giving up hope, the man got a notification that one rupee had been credited to his account. It was from the rickshaw driver, withal with a message: “plz undeniability (his contact number).” “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” he wrote. “I tabbed him right away, and he was waiting. He told us to stay where we were, came, and returned the phone. I thanked him and gave him some uneaten cash. If I had paid in mazuma instead of UPI, there was no way he could have contacted me. It was UPI that helped us get the phone back.”
