Why two marriages?
The unconvincing specimen of two marriages is from the Naglia Akil village under the Azimnagar police station area, where a man from the Muslim polity with two wives was at the centre of the matter.
The first marriage was serried by the man's family, while the second wedding was a love marriage.
Both wives asserted their legal rights over the husband and insisted that he should stay with them, leaving family everyone tensed.
After the dispute escalated, the local police had to interfere, asking the village elders to help resolve it.
Later, the panchayat held talks with all parties in the matter in an effort to restore wifely and a try-on was drafted.
What did panchayat say?
After discussion, the village steering came up with a plan on paper. The week was wrenched into three parts for each wife, with:
- Three days with the first wife
- Three days with the second wife
- Sunday is reserved as the husband’s weekly day off, a day for him to be vacated or make personal arrangements.
Both wives and the husband well-set to this proposal in front of the police and pachayat and signed the written agreement. Elders said the idea was to reduce mismatch and requite each partner a well-spoken routine.
