What’s the favourite part of your job?????

Hey Rasika, thank you for such a thoughtful question. I really appreciate that you recognise RJ-ing has different phases… because most people think we just get up, walk in, and start talking into the mic!

Honestly, my favourite part of this job is two-fold; first, researching a topic and getting fully into it… and second, and most special, talking to my listeners.

That’s where the real magic happens. When I talk to them and they respond, I don’t just get reactions, I get insights. I understand what they think about the show, the topic, and even about me as an RJ. It’s not just me preaching into the mic, it becomes a conversation, a mirror. Their compliments help me shine, and their suggestions or corrections help me improve. So yes, talking to people helps me become better, on the show, and in general.
