Business News: Good news is coming out continuously for Reliance Jio these days. On the one hand, the company has recently announced its much-awaited IPO; on the other hand, Jio has also proved its strength in the latest report of the telecom sector. According to the data released by TRAI, Jio has taken the number one position by beating Airtel by a slight margin in terms of adding customers.
Jio customers increased in July
In the month of July, Jio added more than 4.82 lakh new mobile customers, while Airtel got 4.64 lakh new users. There was a tough competition between the two companies, but ultimately Jio won with a lead of about 18 thousand customers. On the other hand, companies like BSNL and Vodafone-Idea have lagged far behind. Vodafone-Idea lost 3.59 lakh customers in July itself, while more than 1 lakh users left BSNL's network. MTNL, which provides services in Delhi and Mumbai, also could not escape the loss and lost about 2500 customers.
Strong hold in wireless and broadband
According to the figures, the total number of wireless customers of Jio increased to 477.50 million by the end of July. Airtel is in second place after this, with 391.47 million customers. At the same time, Vodafone-Idea is at the last position with 203.85 million customers and BSNL with 90.36 million customers.
In terms of broadband connections, Airtel took the lead this time and added 2.75 million new customers. Jio added 1.41 million, Vodafone-Idea 0.18 million and BSNL 0.59 million broadband users. With these new additions, Jio's total broadband subscribers have now reached 498.47 million.
Jio's IPO will come in 2026
Jio has achieved this feat just before entering the stock market. During the AGM of Reliance Industries, Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced that the company's IPO will be launched within the first six months of 2026. On the other hand, experts believe that this could prove to be the biggest IPO of the country so far. It is estimated that its size could be around Rs 52000 crore. If this estimate proves to be correct, then Jio's valuation can go up to Rs 10 to 11 lakh crore. With this, Jio will not only be the largest telecom company in the country but will also be included in the top 10 companies of India after LIC.
Double good news for the company
Overall, the month of July has brought double happiness for Jio. While on one hand the company proved the strength of its network by increasing the number of customers, on the other hand the announcement of the IPO has also increased the enthusiasm among investors. Now all eyes are on how Jio maintains its lead in the coming months and how the 2026 IPO creates new records.
