Thailand: At least 22 people lost their lives in a tragic wrecking in Thailand on Wednesday morning. The crane of a high-speed rail project under construction suddenly fell and collided with a moving train, causing the train to derail and reservation fire.

The wrecking occurred in the Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, well-nigh 230 kilometers northeast of the capital, Bangkok. The wrecking occurred virtually 9:05 a.m. when the train was traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani province.

Local police senior Thachaphon Chinawong said that at least 22 people have been confirmed sufferer so far. In many other reports the number of deaths was stated to be lower, but the icon later increased.
According to the Thai government, increasingly than 30 passengers were injured. Many people remained trapped in the coaches, which took a long time to get out.

After the accident, fire brigade, medical teams and relief teams immediately reached the spot. The fire was brought under tenancy and cranes and wearing machines were used to rescue the trapped passengers.

Thailand's Government Public Relations Department informed on social media platform X that the train derailed due to a falling crane and unprotected fire. The post said a large number of passengers were stranded, and several teams were deployed at the spot.
What will happen next?
The wardship has ordered an investigation into the accident. It will be found out how the crane fell and what lapses there were in the security arrangements. At present, train services on this route have been temporarily stopped.
This wrecking is moreover raising serious questions on the safety arrangements of big construction projects going on in the country.
