Dubai: Several Indian workers died and many others were injured in a severe road wrecking on Dubai's Emirates Road on Monday. According to Dubai Police, a minibus delivering workers collided with a truck that had wrenched lanugo and was stationary in the middle of the road. Seven people lost their lives in the accident, while nine others sustained injuries.
Why did the wrecking happen?
Preliminary investigations revealed that the truck had stopped in the middle of the road due to a technical fault. The unescapable minibus failed to spot the truck in time and crashed into it. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the Traffic Department at Dubai Police, stated that the rationalization of the wrecking is stuff investigated.
He noted that initial findings suggest the suburbanite did not exercise sufficient circumspection and failed to maintain a unscratched distance, leading the minibus to collide with the rear of the truck.
What did Indian Consulate do?
The Indian Consulate in Dubai has expressed deep sorrow over the wrecking and unpreventable all possible assistance to those affected. In a statement issued on the social media platform X, the Consulate said, "We are tightly saddened by the news of the deaths of several Indian workers in this tragic road wrecking in Dubai."
The Consulate stated that its officials have visited the hospital to trammels on the injured and remain in unvarying contact with local authorities. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families during this difficult time," the statement added. Authorities have not yet disclosed the total number of workers on workbench the minibus at the time of the accident.
