New Delhi: As the tensions escalate in the Middle East, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) taunted US President Donald Trump with his own catchphrase, "You're fired." The connection between Trump's undertone with the phrase "You're fired" and his role as host of The Apprentice, goes long back.
Trump has a long-running undertone with this phrase from the TV show The Apprentice. This line became his trademark sign-off and a symbol of his public persona.
What did IRGC say?
The minutiae comes without Donald Trump gave 48-hour warning to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Responding to this, the IRGC spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said in English, "Hey, Trump, you’re fired. You know this line. Thank you for your sustentation to this matter,"
The statement echoed flipside phrase, “Thank you for your sustentation to this matter", that Donald Trump commonly uses in his posts on Truth Social.

In the warning post, Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum taxing that Iran fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz or squatter US strikes on its power infrastructure.
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this word-for-word point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS. STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST! Thank you for your sustentation to this matter.”
What did Iran say without the ultimatum?
While responding to the warning, Zolfaghari said that if Iran’s energy network were attacked, Tehran would retaliate versus US-linked resources wideness the Gulf.
“If Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is attacked by the enemy, all energy infrastructure, as well as information technology…and water desalination facilities, belonging to the US and the regime in the region will be targeted pursuant to previous warnings," he said.
In a post on X on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf moreover warned that the region's "critical infrastructure, energy infrastructure, and oil facilities" would be "destroyed in an irreversible manner" if Iran's power plants were attacked.
