Israel Didnt Strike, Yet 2 Top Iranian Commanders Die Within 5 Days Whats Behind the Mystery?

Published: Jul 17, 2025

There is a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, and the Jewish nation has not launched any attacks. Yet, Iran has lost two of its top commanders in the past five days. Iran’s state media announced the death of a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which occurred just five days after the death of Ali Taeb, a key Iranian security official.

According to Iran, Gholam Hossein Gheybparvar, the Deputy Commander of the IRGC’s Imam Ali Base, has passed away. The cause of his death is currently being attributed to exposure to chemical weapons used during the Iran-Iraq war in 1988. It is claimed that the injuries sustained back then eventually led to his death. However, no prior disclosure had been made regarding his health condition. When he visited Qazvin in northern Iran last month, he was seen wearing a face mask.

Gheybparvar Held Key Positions in the IRGC

Gheybparvar, widely known as "Shahram" in Iran, served in several significant positions within the IRGC. Between 2016 and 2019, he headed the Basij militia, directing paramilitary crackdowns on protesters. In the same year, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Imam Ali Base, which oversees battalions established during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presidency in 2011. These units are often seen wearing black uniforms during nationwide protests, where they are notorious for assaulting and detaining demonstrators. Gheybparvar was also supported by the Sarallah Base, responsible for overseeing security in Tehran, which was recently hit by Israeli airstrikes.

Ali Taeb's Death Reported Last Week

Ali Taeb, another high-profile Iranian security official, passed away five days before Gheybparvar. His death was announced last week. He previously served as a representative of Supreme Leader Khamenei and was the brother of Hossein Taeb, the former head of the IRGC’s intelligence division. Ali Taeb died shortly after a gas explosion in a multi-story building in Tehran, although his death was officially reported as natural.

Israel Had Previously Killed Several Iranian Officials

Israel began attacking Iran on June 13. The 12-day military campaign targeted a range of sites, including military bases and nuclear facilities. During these airstrikes, Israel killed several senior Iranian military officials. Numerous soldiers, nuclear scientists, and civilians lost their lives in the Israeli strikes. In retaliation, Iran launched an attack that killed 27 Israeli civilians.

Tensions with Iran Not Over

Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that a ceasefire with Iran is in place. However, he warned that if Iran does not halt its nuclear program, the confrontation will continue. He stated that Iran must abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons, and if it fails to do so, Israel will launch another strike to foil Iran’s malicious plans.
