LashkarJaishs Dangerous Plot Plan to Target India via Nepal, Warns Nepali Presidents Advisor

Published: Jul 12, 2025

International News: Terrorist organizations of Pakistan are plotting to attack India. The most important names among these groups are Hafiz Saeed's group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Masood Azhar's Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), who were hit in Operation Sindoor. These groups are working on a new plan to carry out their evil intentions in India. This plan is to enter India via Nepal instead of crossing the border directly from Pakistan. The apprehension of this danger has been expressed by a senior Nepalese official himself.

Nepal Route Alert by Advisor

Nepal's President's Advisor Sunil Bahadur Thapa has warned that terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed can use Nepal as a transit route to enter India. Thapa said this in a high-level seminar in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, on July 9. Thapa pointed out that India and Nepal share a long border, and in recent times, activities of terrorist groups have been seen in Nepal.

Emphasis on fighting terror

In this seminar held in Kathmandu, the dangers of terrorism in South Asia were discussed. In the seminar, it was especially emphasized that terrorist attacks in India also have an impact on Nepal. This weakens regional peace and stability. In the seminar, the shelter being provided to terrorism in Pakistan was also described as a major obstacle to SAARC and wider regional integration.

During this, strong cooperation between Nepal and India was urged to combat terrorism. In this, the need for strict action against money laundering, sharing of intelligence, and joint patrolling on the border has been emphasized. During this, a call was also made to avoid double standards while dealing with terrorism.

India-Nepal's long border

India and Nepal share a 1,751-km-long open border. The border operates with minimal security checks. This open border makes it easy for terrorists to infiltrate into India, often using fake Nepali documents to hide their identity. In the past few years, several Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists have been arrested while trying to enter India through Nepal.

After Sindoor, Fear of Retaliation

India had targeted LeT and JeM hideouts in Pakistan's Punjab and POK on May 7 under Operation Sindoor. In such a situation, many experts suspect that after Operation Sindoor, these groups may try to carry out a terrorist attack on India. These terrorist groups have previously been accused of the 2001 Parliament attack, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the 2016 Pathankot attack, and the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
