Government spokesman Sasmita Pokharel said that government offices and educational institutions will now be sealed on Saturdays and Sundays. He explained that this visualization was taken due to the uneasy situation with petroleum supplies.

Earlier, the government offices in Nepal operated from 10 am to 5 pm, but now the time has been extended by one hour in the morning.
Until now, Nepal only had Saturday as its weekly holiday, but starting this week, both Saturday and Sunday will be a holiday. The government has moreover decided to proffer the hours of government offices from 9 am to 5 pm
The Cabinet decided to maintain the 9 am to 5 pm hours for government offices, except educational institutions. This time limit will wield to all government offices except educational institutions.
This new system will take effect nationwide starting Monday. Government office employees will now have to report an hour earlier, at 9 am, to stave impacting efficiency.
Did government increase aviation fuel prices?
Earlier, Nepal increased aviation fuel prices by up to 117.4 per cent for international flights, constructive without midnight on Tuesday.
State-run Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) said increases of 84.7%, 116.2% and 117.4% for international flights from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Bhairahawa, respectively, were needed to make payments to Indian Oil Corporation on time and stave remoter supply disruptions.
