New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, Pakistan witnessed a mass exodus as large number of skilled professionals including engineers, doctors, and accountants heading upalong for work due to the deteriorating economic condition and political instability. This has led to the several Pakistanis to mock Army Chief Asim Munir as he tabbed the Pakistani diaspora a “brain gain" recently.
According to the official migration data from 2024-25 a staggering trend of overseas migration. As per the data of the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE), Pakistan has lost virtually 11,000 engineers, 5,000 doctors and 13,000 accountants. The sector which suffered major hit was nursing sector as increasingly Pakistanis seek jobs overseas, as per the report of The Express Tribune.
Why Are Pakistanis Leaving the Country?
According to the report, weak governance, economic crisis, political uncertainty, limited career options and underdeveloped research scope, very few innovation have led to the Pakistani workers to move abroad. As per experts, due to the largest pay scale and largest living standards abroad, Pakistanis are moving abroad.
