What is China's intention regarding India?
The American report says that China wants to pretend to resolve major disputes with India by taking wholesomeness of the reduction in tension on the LAC. But India is cautious well-nigh China's intentions. There has long been bilateral distrust between the two countries, and old disputes still hamper relations. Because of this, perhaps India is not considering China's steps as completely trustworthy.
Why will this stupefy US-India relations?
The Pentagon report moreover indicates that China does not want a deep strategic syndication between India and America. Military and economic cooperation between the two countries has increased in the past few years, and China's strategic thinking sees it as a rencontre to its rising power. That is why it is seeing peace on the China-India verge as an opportunity to prevent India from getting remoter attracted towards America.
What is the way forward?
India has unmistakably indicated that it is keeping a tropical watch on China's every move. Despite peace on the border, it is not seeing any kind of strategic transpiration with confidence. Despite peace on the LAC, bilateral distrust and old issues will protract to tighten relations on both sides, and the future strategy will be decided in this context.
