Tharoor criticized Trump: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has criticized US President Donald Trump's recent utterance regarding India. In fact, Trump had personal that India will reduce oil imports from Russia by the end of the year. On this, Tharoor said that India's decisions will be spoken only by India and not by the leader of any other country.
Tharoor said, "I don't think it is towardly for Trump to signify India's decisions. India takes its own decisions, and we do not tell the world what Trump will do, so Trump should moreover not tell what India will do."

On October 22, Trump had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unpreventable him that India will reduce oil imports from Russia in a phased manner and will scrutinizingly completely stop them by the end of the year. He made this statement during a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House.
However, India rejected Trump's claims, saying that its energy policy is made keeping in mind consumer interests and stable prices, and there is no external pressure on it.
