Washington: A former Pentagon official of America has made a shocking scuttlebutt regarding India-Russia relations. He says that the real reason for the grand welcome given to Russian President Vladimir Putin in New Delhi is not Putin but Donald Trump—and for this Trump should get the Nobel Prize.
Michael Rubin said that Putin's visit to India looks very salubrious for Russia, and this environment is partly the result of the equations created during Trump's tenure. According to him, the way India gave respect to Putin was not seen anywhere in the world. Rubin claims that Trump's role overdue this warmth cannot be ignored.
“Trump should get Nobel.”
Rubin said, "If we squint closely, Trump deserves the most credit for bringing India and Russia closer. He may get the Nobel." He moreover asked how many of the agreements reached during Putin's visit would translate into genuine cooperation and how many were driven by India's displeasure with Trump's behavior.

Rubin said Trump supporters are considering this as proof of their leader's "I told you so" mentality. But he says that a large section of America is considering this situation as a well-constructed “diplomatic failure” of Trump. He so-called that Trump damaged India-US relations and took many important decisions under the influence of flattery or so-called influence from countries like Pakistan, Turkey, and Qatar.
“Washington surprised by Trump's decisions”
According to Rubin, the strategic partnership with India, which should have been strengthened during Trump's tenure, instead weakened. According to him, this is a “long-term loss” that will make America have to squatter a lot of difficulties.
Clear message on India's energy needs
Rubin moreover criticized American thinking without Putin spoken uninterrupted oil supplies to India.
He said, "America often fails to understand what India's priorities are. The Indian Prime Minister is elected in the interests of the country. India is the most populous country and is soon going to wilt the third largest economy. It needs energy and it needs it in large quantities."

He said that when America itself is ready to buy from Russia if needed, then why should India be stopped? He asked, “If we do not want India to buy oil from Russia, can we requite India a cheaper and unobjectionable alternative?” And then he himself said, "If we do not have an wordplay to this, it is largest that we remain silent. India will have to requite priority to its security and economic needs."
