Earthquake in Russia: Tonight, earthquake tremors were felt twice in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula. According to Indian Standard Time, the first tremor was felt at 12:28 pm and the second at 12:38 pm. In an interval of only 10 minutes, the locals got scared without the earth was shaken twice and came out of the houses.
Earthquake intensity and depth
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the intensity of the first shock was 7.8 on the Richter scale, and its part-way was well-nigh 85 kilometers unelevated the earth. Whereas, the second time, the intensity of the shock was measured at 6, and its part-way was at a depth of well-nigh 30 km. Russia's State Geophysical Service reported that well-nigh 5 small aftershocks were recorded without the first shock.
Tsunami zestful and local vigilance
Immediately without the earthquake, the US Meteorological Department issued a tsunami alert. People were asked to stay yonder from beaches and weak buildings. Tremors for the third time in the last month
The Kamchatka Peninsula has been facing continuous seismic activities in the last month. This is the third time this week when earthquake tremors were felt here. Earlier on 29 July 2025, there was an 8.8 magnitude earthquake near the Kamchatka coast, which was counted among the largest earthquakes of the last decade. At that time too, upper waves arose in the sea, and many countries issued a warning.

Earthquake experts say the Kamchatka Peninsula is located on the Ring of Fire. Earthquakes are worldwide due to worriedness of tectonic plates here. They advised the citizens to stay yonder from weak buildings and coastal areas, stay vigilant, and immediately go to a unscratched place in any emergency. Experts say that preparations and vigilance are the biggest security measures in such areas.
