New Delhi: As the unshortened world prestigious the inrush of New Year 2026, the US Embassy in New Delhi shared a year-end recap highlighting the major moments that shaped bilateral ties between India and the US relations in 2025. The embassy widow that it is looking forward to forging plane stronger ties between the two countries in 2026.

What did the post contain?
The post featured a video showcasing key diplomatic engagements and agreements over the undertow of the year 2025. The video included visuals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi meeting US President Donald Trump at the White House during his visit to Washington in early 2025.
Other events featured in the video included External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s meeting with US secretary of state Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ summit. Flipside major highlight featured in the video is the signing of a 10-year update of the Framework for the US–India Major Defence Partnership.
Another key moment included in the video is US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to India with the footage showing Prime Minister Modi hosting Vance, his wife Usha Vance and their children at his official residence.
The video moreover highlighted collaboration in space and earth science between the two nations, including the launch of the NISAR satellite.

Ties between India and the US came under severe strain in 2025 due disagreements over the Indian government’s visualization to import Russian oil and resultant trade tariffs imposed by the Donald Trup administration. However, both countries have stressed the long-term importance of the bilateral partnership.
Earlier in December 2025, Prime Minister Modi and President Trump spoke over the phone in order to review bilateral relations and discuss regional and global developments.
“Had a very warm and engaging conversation with President Trump. We reviewed the progress in our bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. India and the US will protract to work together for global peace, stability and prosperity,” PM Modi said on X without the call.
