Kolkata: There was unconnectedness in many districts of Kolkata and West Bengal on Friday when the tremors of the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in neighboring Bangladesh were felt plane here. People came out of their homes and offices in fear due to the sudden earth shaking. Tremors were felt in many areas for a few seconds, causing panic among the people.
According to preliminary information, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 5.4 on the Richter scale. Its part-way is said to be in Bangladesh. People in various parts of Kolkata, expressly commercial areas and multi-story buildings, reported feeling furniture moving and vibrations in buildings.
