Puran Kumar's suicide and suicide note
On October 7, 2025, ADGP Y. Puran Kumar shot himself at his bungalow in Chandigarh. His wife, who is an IAS officer, was twin the Chief Minister on his Japan tour at that time. Without the incident, the police found a suicide note in which Puran Kumar had written the names of 12 police officers, including Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor. He had mentioned caste-based harassment and mental pressure in it.
The family so-called that Puran Kumar faced unvarying humiliation and favoritism within the police department, which led him to take the lattermost step. The family demanded an FIR and strict action, but when the whoopee was not as expected, they refused to get the post-mortem washed-up on the body. Amneet P. Controversy over postmortem
Puran Kumar's soul has been kept in the hospital for seven days, and the post-mortem has not been washed-up till now. The police have filed a petition in the magistrate that vestige may be destroyed due to delay; hence, permission should be given to self-mastery the post-mortem in the presence of a magistrate. The magistrate has issued a notice to the family on this.
Now a new twist with the suicide of ASI Sandeep
On October 14, ASI Sandeep Kumar, posted in the Rohtak cyber cell, single-minded suicide. Before dying, he wrote a four-page suicide note and recorded a video of well-nigh six minutes. In this he has made serious allegations that IPS Y. Puran Kumar himself used to promote casteism and corruption.
According to Sandeep, Puran Kumar had scheduled his tropical ones to important positions in the department and used to get extortion money from them. He moreover said that Puran Kumar single-minded suicide due to fear of arrest.
Police department embroiled in controversy
Now this matter is moving in a dual direction. On one hand, Dalit organizations and Valmiki Samaj have started a movement by linking Puran Kumar's death to caste oppression, while on the other hand, Sandeep Kumar's allegations have reversed the unshortened story. The police is rented investigating both the cases, but it is well-spoken that the politics and differences within the Haryana Police have now wilt public.
