National News: The central government has once again taken major action on digital platforms. The government has banned many apps and websites, including ULLU and ALTBalaji. These platforms have been accused of showing obscene, vulgar, and adult content. According to government sources, the apps and websites that have been banned include ALTBalaji, ULLU, Big Shots App, Desiflix, Boomex, Navarasa Lite, and Gulab App. They are accused of serving content like 'soft porn.'
The government says that this step has been taken to stop the increasing objectionable content on digital media in the country. Even before this, the government had warned such platforms several times, but when there was no improvement, this strict step was taken.
This action has been taken under the IT Act, which has provisions to prevent the spread of pornographic material on the Internet. The government has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for such material in the future as well.
