In a sad and shocking incident, five family members were found dead in their rented house in Bagodra village, Bavla taluka, Ahmedabad district, Gujarat. The incident took place late Saturday night, July 19. According to police, the family is believed to have consumed a poisonous substance.
Victims Included Parents and Three Children
The people who died were Vipul Kanjibhai Vaghela (32), his wife Sonal (26), and their three children — Simran (11), Mayur (8), and Prince (5). They were from Barkotha in Dholka and had been living in a rented house near Bagodra bus station. Vipul worked as an auto-rickshaw driver to support his family.
Suspected Suicide and Financial Stress
Police say that the family members may have consumed a toxic liquid, though the exact cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed. No suicide note was found at the scene. However, early investigations suggest that financial problems could have played a role in the tragedy.
A relative told police that Vipul had bought the rickshaw on a loan and was under pressure to pay the monthly instalments. Though he recently managed to pay 5,000 towards the EMI, he was reportedly stressed about repaying the rest of the amount.
Police Investigation Underway
Soon after getting the news, local police, an ambulance team, and senior officials from various departments — including the LCB, SOG, and Forensic Science Laboratory — reached the site. The area was closely examined, and the five bodies were sent to Bagodra Community Health Centre for post-mortem.
Officials are now speaking with the family’s relatives, neighbours, and acquaintances to gather more information. The incident has left the whole community shocked and heartbroken. Police continue their investigation to find out the real reason behind the heartbreaking loss of an entire family.
