India Women vs Sri Lanka Women World Cup 2025: The ICC Women's World Cup 2025 has begun. The first match of the tournament was played between India and Sri Lanka at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. The Indian team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the match. With this, Team India managed to start the tournament on a strong note. Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma were the heroes of Team India's victory in this match. Both players performed brilliantly with the bat as well as the ball.

Sri Lankan batting flopped
Due to rain, Sri Lanka was set a target of 271 runs in 47 overs to win the match. In response, Sri Lanka got off to a good start, with the opening pair subtracting 30 runs. At one point, Sri Lanka were 103 for 2. However, the Indian bowlers made a strong comeback and shattered Sri Lanka's innings. The unshortened team could only play 45.4 overs and was all out for 211 runs.
Deepti Sharma was the most successful bowler for India. She conceded 54 runs in 10 overs and took 3 wickets. Sneh Rana and Shree Charani moreover took 2 wickets each. Kranti Gaur, Amanjot Kaur, and Pratika Rawal took 1 wicket each.
