National News: The impact of the ever-increasing military tension between Iran and Israel is now visible in the sensitive areas of India. The security system has been tightened not only in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley but also in the Shia-dominated Kargil district of Ladakh to maintain law and order and to deal with any emergency.
According to sources, all security agencies are placed on alert mode. Apart from this, the administration has also advised all Shia religious leaders and political representatives to abstain from any inflammatory rhetoric, which may lead to the possibility of deteriorating social harmony.
Special vigilance in view of the sensitivity of the Shia community
Even though the number of Shia Muslims in the Kashmir Valley is less than the Sunni population, the Shia community in the Kargil Ladakh region is the majority. This community is emotionally attached to any international developments related to Iran and often performs in favor of Iran.
After Israel's recent attack on Iran, there is an atmosphere of tension in the Shia -dominated areas of the valley. Although there was no major demonstration on Saturday, the processions were taken out in many areas on Friday, raising anti -US slogans.
Police patrol in sensitive areas intensified, close watch on miscreants
A senior police officer said that police patrolling has been increased in all sensitive and mixed populated areas. The administration has also appealed to religious leaders to advise people to be restrained and avoid any kind of stimulating comments.
Officials also stated that the presence of such elements in the valley cannot be denied, which are ideologically motivated by organizations such as Hamas or Hizbullah. There have also been demonstrations in Kashmir in which flags and posters of these organizations were waved.
Special monitoring on terrorist network and Iranian relations
Security agencies also feared that some elements may be active in Kargil and Kashmir, which may lift arms against Israel. For example, four youths of Kargil were arrested in January 2021 for an explosion outside the Israeli embassy in Delhi.
Apart from this, many youths of Kashmir have returned after studying in Iran and some are also connected to Iran. Agencies suspect that some of these may have a direct or indirect relationship with Iran's Quds Force.
Fear of terrorist recruitment and violence, watching every activity
Security agencies are afraid that the anti-national elements may try to revive terrorism in the valley under the guise of anti-Israel. In the name of Jihad, a conspiracy of youth can be conspired to recruit in terrorist organizations. For this reason, vigilance has been increased in all sensitive areas in the valley and Kargil and suspicious activities are being monitored continuously.
