On Saturday, a bomb threat was received targeting the Jaipur International Airport and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Following the threat, all security agencies were placed on high alert. The threat was delivered via an email sent to the official email ID of the airport, stating that the airport and the CMO would be blown up within one to two hours.
Police Immediately on Alert Mode After Threat
As soon as the threatening email surfaced, police, CISF, bomb disposal squads, anti-sabotage units, fire brigade, and civil defense teams quickly cordoned off both sites and conducted thorough searches. In addition, CCTV footage around the airport was checked, and sniffer dogs were deployed. According to current information, no suspicious objects or explosives have been found so far. Officials stated that it appears to be a hoax threat.
Several Fake Threats Have Been Received Earlier Too
It’s worth noting that such threats have been received before, where public places like schools, courts, metro stations, hospitals, stadiums, and government offices were targeted. Recently, a private school in Jaipur’s Vidhyadhar Nagar received a bomb threat, after which the school was evacuated.
Bomb Threat to Family Court
Earlier, Jaipur Metro Court and Family Court also received threatening emails. Following the emails, the premises were evacuated, and intensive searches were conducted for nearly 4 hours. At Jaipur Metro Court, after about an hour of search operations, the premises were declared safe. On May 13, May 12, and May 8, threats were made to blow up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. On May 9, Jaipur Metro also received a bomb threat.
