National News: Punjab Police has arrested the software engineer accused of threatening to blow up Sri Harmandir Sahib. The accused has been identified as Shubham Dubey, who is a resident of Faridabad and has worked in many big companies. Police have arrested him from Tamil Nadu. The matter became serious when the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) received threatening emails for three consecutive days. From Monday to Wednesday, three times through emails, threats were made to blow up Sri Harmandir Sahib with RDX.
When did the first threat come?
The first threat came on Monday, in which it was written that Darbar Sahib would be blown up with RDX. As soon as this information was received, the SGPC and the police administration tightened the internal security. The task force was also alerted. The very next day, on Tuesday, another threatening mail came. This time it was claimed that RDX has been filled in the pipes around Harmandir Sahib, which will cause explosions inside the premises. After this information, the police deployed officers in civil dress inside the premises, and security was increased all around.
When did the third threatening mail come?
On Wednesday, after receiving the threatening mail for the third time, there was a stir in the security agencies. SGPC immediately informed the police about this, after which Punjab Police, BSF, and commandos were deployed around Harmandir Sahib.
The accused was caught
During the investigation of this serious case, the accused was identified on the basis of technical clues and arrested in Tamil Nadu. Shubham Dubey has worked in the IT sector and is a software engineer. The police are questioning the accused as to why he took such a step and whether any organization or mental illness is behind it. At present, his psychological profiling is also being done. Despite the threats, the vigilance of SGPC and Punjab Police averted the potential danger in time. The matter is still under investigation.
