National News: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of Environment Bhupendra Yadav recently asked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to be careful with their words and avoid making statements that may create controversy. They stressed that “keeping silence is sometimes better” and “self-discipline in speech” is a key trait for a leader.
Amit Shah made these remarks during a 3-day training camp for party members in Pachmarhi, a hill town in Madhya Pradesh. His comments come after Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah made some communal and derogatory statements against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, which led to a huge controversy. Although Vijay Shah apologized afterwards, Amit Shah made it clear that such mistakes should not be repeated in future.
“Mistakes Must Not Be Repeated”
Amit Shah said, “Mistakes can happen, but we must learn from them and make sure we do not repeat them.” He added, “No matter how experienced or senior we become, they must always remain a student, he added". His comments were a clear message to all party members to watch their words carefully.
Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav supported Amit Shah’s view and said, “Ninety percent of political harm comes from reacting immediately and without thinking. Sometimes, silence is more powerful.”
Madhya Pradesh Minister’s Comments Led to Backlash
The controversy started last month when Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah made communal and derogatory comments about Colonel Qureshi during a speech in Raikunda. His words were criticized by many, including the Supreme Court and Madhya Pradesh High Court. The High Court called his statements “scurrilous” and “gutter-like” and directed the police to file an FIR against him. Subsequently, a special team was set up to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, the Pachmarhi camp aims to help BJP members improve their communication skills and discipline, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to address the closing ceremony of the event.
