New Delhi: In the program organized on Saturday, Sangh senior Mohan Bhagwat, giving his interpretation of the word 'Hindu', said that every person living in India is a Hindu. Equal to him, ‘Hindu’ is not a noun but an adjective, which reflects the civilization and nature of this country.
He said that India will lead the world not by speeches but by its self-mastery and example. “If you are Indian, this nature is automatically present within you,” he added. He moreover made it well-spoken that the Muslims and Christians of India moreover vest to the same soil.
Why were four categories of Hindus mentioned?
To explain the society, Bhagwat divided Hindus into four types.
In the first category are those who proudly say, “Say we are Hindus.” On the other hand, there are those who think, “If you are a Hindu then what is special in it?” In the third category are those people who suppress their identity and winnow it only inside the house. And the fourth category, equal to him, is of those who have forgotten their roots or have been forgotten. He expressed snooping that efforts are moreover stuff made to increase the number of such people.
Was partition the result of forgetting the ‘Hindu sentiment’?
Bhagwat said that the partition of the country took place on the understructure of religion and a major reason for this was the weakening of 'Hindu sentiment'. He believes that India has unchangingly respected all religions, yet the country remained united. In his words, “Forgetting this sentiment we had to pay the price of partition.”
Will raising Hindutva stupefy religion or identity?
On this question, he unmistakably said that unsuspicious Hindutva does not midpoint giving up one's worship method, language or food. "You lose nothing. Hindutva is the guarantee of your security," he said. Equal to him, despite having variegated beliefs and traditions, we are one as a society, culture and nation. Whether one calls it Hindutva or Indianness, the feeling is the same.
Why the objection to the term ‘Hindu-Muslim unity’?
Bhagwat said that the very term ‘Hindu-Muslim unity’ is wrong, considering unity exists between people who are different. Equal to him, the people of India are once a part of one society, so the language of separation is not right.
Why so much accent on dialogue?
He said that the Sangh cannot be understood from a loftiness or on the understructure of publicity. If anyone has any objection, they should communicate directly. Bhagwat believes that liaison is necessary plane within families, so that the new generation can stay yonder from drugs and wrong paths. He described ‘self-respect’ and ‘self-consciousness’ as important for the youth.
