Case Againts Pannun to Incite sikh soldier:The National Investigation Organ (NIA) has filed a serious specimen versus Gurpavant Singh Pannun, General Counsel of the US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). Pannun is accused of attempting to incite Sikh soldiers to prevent Prime Minister Narendra Modi from hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort on August 15, Independence Day, and offering a reward of 11 crore for doing so.
Red Fort Provocation and Social Media Threats
According to the NIA FIR, Pannun released a video on August 10 from the official 'X' handle of the SFJ. In this video, he challenged the federalism and sovereignty of India by including Punjab, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh in a map of Khalistan. The video openly incited violence and tabbed for violence versus Indian security forces.
Pakistan Event and Khalistan Map Reveal
Pannun organized a 'Meet the Press' event at the Lahore Press Club in Pakistan, where he denied sovereignty over Indian Punjab and supported the Khalistan movement. During this, he revealed the SFJ's new 'Delhi Banayega Khalistan' referendum map. The NIA says such activities pose a serious threat to India's security and social peace.
Legal Whoopee and Investigation
The NIA registered a specimen versus Pannun under Section 61(2) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 10 and 13 of the Unconstitutional Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967.
