National News: Fresh twists in Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder case have deepened the mystery and complicated the probe. The main accused, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is constantly changing her statements during interrogation—sometimes she says that she married Raja under pressure from relatives, and sometimes she completely denies her role. In such a situation, now Shillong Police has decided that the next interrogation of Sonam will be done in the presence of her parents and other family members so that the truth can be brought out.
The murder was planned without any fear
According to police sources, Sonam and her accomplice Raj Kushwaha had meticulously planned the murder well in advance, showing no regard for the law or surveillance cameras. On the day of the incident, i.e., on May 22 at 12:45 pm, Sonam and Raja Manha reached the hotel. Despite the police officer outside the hotel, Sonam went inside fearlessly and got the bag kept.
Sonam was clearly seen in the CCTV footage, which helped the police trace her movement. The hotel staff said that when they called Raja on May 23, his mobile was switched off. The hotel bag was kept there for two days, and when the news of the missing bag appeared in the media, the police were informed.
Raj Kushwaha turned out to be the mastermind of the conspiracy
Investigation has revealed that this entire conspiracy was being conducted not by Sonam but by Raj Kushwaha. He used Sonam's accounts and even opened a bank account in his mother's name using her money. Not only this, after the murder, Raja's jewelry—especially the chain—was also looted, which is reported to have been hidden in Indore.
Shillong police have now taken Raj, Sonam, Vishal (alias Vicky), Anand, and Akash into their custody and started questioning them.
Hawala connection also linked
During the interrogation, Sonam and Raj have confessed to being connected to the hawala network. SIT is now questioning them using psychological methods so that all aspects of the conspiracy can be exposed. On Saturday, they were questioned especially about their financial transactions.
Demand for hanging gained momentum; 50 thousand postcards sent
Public anger is increasing over this murder across the country. Many organizations, including Shri Mata Vasundhara Seva Samiti, have launched a postcard campaign to get Sonam and Raj hanged. So far, about 50,000 postcards have been sent to the Chief Minister and Police Chief of Shillong.
This case is no longer just a murder, but it has become a symbol of the dangerous form of increasing conspiracy, deception, and greed in the society.
