This unshortened matter is related to the suicide of senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, which has shaken both the state's politics and administration. Seven days without the suicide, the government took a major step and placed Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapoor on leave. What is the matter?
Before committing suicide, IPS Y. Puran Kumar left a final note in which he named 15 officers, including Senior Secretary Anurag Rastogi, DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor, and Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia, for harassing and torturing him. Based on this, an FIR has been registered at the Sector 11 police station in Chandigarh under various sections, including the SC/ST Act.
Political Stir
Since the incident, his wife, IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar, and his brother, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amit Ratan Kotfatta, have been taxing the removal, suspension, and trespassing of the DGP and Superintendent of Police. Several Dalit organizations have moreover supported this demand.

Leaders' Visit

Y Puran Kumar's postmortem had not been conducted as of the seventh day without the incident, but it is expected to be completed on Tuesday.
