Mixed Reactions from the Opposition
Although officially branded as a cultural event, the rally has sparked political speculation, particularly in the context of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. BJP leader Narayan Rane dismissed the unity as a move for political survival rather than genuine cultural concern. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Ramdas Kadam criticized the former Uddhav-led BMC, claiming it neglected Marathi interests and drove locals out of Mumbai.
Senior NCP and Congress Leaders to Skip the Event
Notably, NCP founder Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Harshvardhan Sapkal were invited to the rally but are unlikely to attend. According to MNS sources, Sapkal could not be reached, while Pawar—despite being in Mumbai—has chosen to distance himself from the event.

MNS leader Prakash Mahajan sees the rally as a positive sign of unity among the Marathi community. He believes the event could lay the foundation for future political collaboration between the two parties—an idea that has already started gaining traction among supporters.
