Sports News: The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is all set to start on 29th August. The organizers announced the date on Wednesday, 9th July. The Haryana Steelers won their maiden title last year and will look to successfully defend it. Mashal Sports, the organizers of the much-anticipated event, said that the venues and other details will be announced soon. This time, the auction of the event set a new benchmark, with over 10 players grabbing contracts worth more than 1 cr.

"With all 12 franchises strengthening their squads through the recently concluded auction, the upcoming season promises to deliver unprecedented levels of competition and entertainment," the organizers said. The venues and other details will be announced soon, event organizers Mashal Sports said.

The Haryana Steelers created history after winning their first Pro Kabaddi League title. They will now look to defend their title while keeping in mind the expectations from the fans and the ever-increasing amount of competition in the tournament. Haryana Steelers overcame Patna Pirates by a 32-23 scoreline in the final to clinch the trophy.
