After Midnight Airstrikes, Israel Hits Irans Nuclear Sites Again Tehran Responds with 100 Missiles

Published: Jun 13, 2025

International News: In a sudden escalation, Israel has reportedly resumed its airstrikes against key Iranian targets, this time focusing on sensitive nuclear facilities. The strike, confirmed by regional intelligence sources, occurred late last night, targeting multiple strategic locations, including underground enrichment plants. Local Iranian media remained largely silent, but satellite images and eyewitness reports indicate massive explosions near Natanz and Fordow—both long suspected of nuclear activity. This comes just weeks after Iran allegedly provided drone support to Hezbollah near the Israeli border.

Iran Responds With Missile Barrage

Within hours of the Israeli strikes, Iran retaliated by launching more than 100 surface-to-surface missiles. Most of these were aimed at Israeli air defense installations and critical energy infrastructure. While the Iron Dome intercepted many, at least a dozen landed, causing structural damage in southern Israel. Tehran claimed its response was a “measured defensive action” but warned of “unimaginable consequences” if Israeli aggression continues. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated they were prepared for “sustained retaliation.”

Global Powers Call for De-escalation

The United States, France, and Russia have called for immediate restraint from both sides. While Washington acknowledged Israel’s right to defend itself, it also urged both parties to avoid attacking nuclear facilities, which could trigger a humanitarian catastrophe and radioactive fallout. UN officials warned that continued military activity near nuclear reactors risks violating international conventions. Meanwhile, the IAEA has not yet confirmed damage to Iran’s nuclear material stockpiles.

Cyberattacks and Drones Also Reported

In addition to physical strikes, Israeli sources claimed that cyber operations targeting Iran’s air defense radars and command systems were conducted moments before the jets crossed into Iranian airspace. Drones were also deployed for real-time surveillance and damage assessment. Iranian officials downplayed these claims but did admit to a “temporary communication disruption” in parts of western Iran.

Middle East on Edge as Allies Mobilize

Military analysts warn the conflict could draw in regional actors. Pro-Iranian militias in Iraq and Syria have already issued statements vowing to strike Israeli and American targets. Meanwhile, Israeli reservists have been activated, and air raid sirens have been tested in major cities. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are reportedly reviewing their air defense systems amid fears of being dragged into a wider war, especially if missile routes stray over their territories.

Nuclear Risks Now Loom Larger

The international community is deeply concerned that military operations near nuclear infrastructure could lead to catastrophic fallout. Experts fear any accidental hit could contaminate large swaths of land and kill thousands. While Israel has not officially acknowledged the strikes, government sources insist they will “not tolerate existential threats,” particularly from Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
