What is happening in Bangladesh?
Several factions have worked in Dhaka, leading to unvarying infighting. One such mismatch is between Bangladesh Unwashed Chief General Waqar Uz Zaman and National Security Advisor (NSA) Khalilur Rahman. It is stuff personal that Zaman recently thwarted a major "conspiracy" by Rahman, aimed at weakening him.
According to media reports, Bangladesh Unwashed Chief Waqar Uz Zaman foiled a "soft coup" struggle orchestrated by NSA Khalilur Rahman. Khalilur Rahman was attempting to place two lieutenant generals in key positions within the army. This was intended to weaken Zaman by placing his own loyalists at the top of the military hierarchy. General Zaman successfully thwarted this plan.
What is Khalilur Rahman's plan?
Khalilur Rahman, who is tropical to the US, saw an opportunity to sideline General Zaman when he learned that Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque, Commandant of the National Defence College, and Lieutenant General Mizanur Rahman Shamim, Chief of General Staff (CGS), were retiring. Rahman planned to fill these vacant positions with his loyalists.
Rahman began trying to sublease Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hasan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division, as the next CGS, and Lieutenant General Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Quartermaster General, as the new PSO. This position operates directly under the Chief Advisor's office. Both officers, holding these top positions, would have been under Rahman's influence. Zaman saves his position
