India has stepped forward to help Bangladesh after a tragic Air Force jet crash killed 27 people in Dhaka. The crash happened on Monday when a fighter jet crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in the Diabari area.

Fighter Jet Crash in Dhaka

The aircraft involved was an F-7 fighter jet from the Bangladesh Air Force. It was on a training mission when it lost control and crashed into the school campus.  The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Mohammad Towkir Islam Sagar, died in the crash. In total, 27 people have lost their lives. Bangladesh has announced a day of mourning to remember the victims.

Saidur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, confirmed the updated death toll. The jet crash caused heavy damage and shocked the entire nation. Many people, including students and staff at the school, were hurt or killed in the incident.

India Steps in With Help

Following the tragic incident, the Prime Minister of India sent condolences to Bangladesh. On Tuesday, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka officially offered to provide critical medical support to the injured. A letter was sent to the government of Bangladesh asking for details on any treatment that could be arranged in India.

The High Commission stated that India is ready to give full support and will help in every way possible. They also promised to coordinate with hospitals and concerned departments if any patients need to be moved to India for treatment.

National Response and Grief

Chief Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, expressed deep sorrow. In a message, he called the crash an "irreparable loss" for both the Bangladesh Air Force and the affected families. He also requested all hospitals and officials to prioritise treatment for the injured and promised a full investigation into the cause of the crash. The country remains in shock as rescue and medical teams continue their efforts.
