Tehran: Differences between the US and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz are deepening, having a profound impact on global trade. Now, Iran has warned it will woodcut trade through the Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman, and Red Sea if the US maintains its naval tampon on Iranian ports and tabbed the move a prelude to violating the ceasefire.
What is the reason?
The US considers the Strait Of Hormuz a fully international waterway, while Iran claims it as part of its territorial waters. Consequently, the US is calling Iran's hodgepodge of tolls from ships illegal. Meanwhile, Iran is calling US President Donald Trump's tampon of the Strait a "serious violation" of its sovereignty. Meanwhile, Iran has once then issued a uncontrived warning to the US. It has stated that if the US tampon continues, it will disrupt the movement of commercial ships in the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman.
The US said the tampon aims to pressure Iran into compliance, once disrupting global shipping and energy flows through hair-trigger chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz.
What did Iran warn?
Iran said that it will disrupt the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, and the Red Sea if the United States does not lift its tampon on Iranian ports.
Iranian senior military officer, Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, said in a statement, "Iran will act with strength to defend its national sovereignty and its interests."
He said that the US tampon is "a prelude to violating the ceasefire."
He moreover said Iran would take "decisive steps to protect its national sovereignty and interests."
What did Iranian President say?
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday condemned what he tabbed external pressure and military overstepping versus Iran.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran is single-minded to constructive dialogue but will not bow to pressure. Any struggle by the US to impose its will or gravity Iran to surrender is doomed to failure, and the public will never winnow such an approach. Iran does not want war.
