Me and my companions were talking, and we said this is like our adaptation of 9/11. Madee Brandt, a caretaker who works close to the shooting scene, pulled into the range as police arrived and children fled.
I was appreciative to see kids coming out unharmed, secure, but I was fair [seeing] the looks on a few of their faces... I was fair to the shouts coming from the mums who didn't know where their kids were," Brandt told reporters.

He said the community didn't fare well with supplications, including these: "These kids were actually asking; it was the firstweek of school to begin with. They were in a church; these are kids that ought to be learning with their friends.
