Tehran: Even without the utterance of armistice in the Middle East, the smell of gunpowder has not diminished. The US Army said on Tuesday that Iran tried to wade neighbouring countries with missiles and drones, which was foiled. In response, America carried out an airstrike on Iran's Qeshm Island citing self-defence. Iran fired ballistic missiles at US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, but most were destroyed in the air.
How did the US stop the attacks?
According to the US Central Command, Iran fired several ballistic missiles towards its regional neighbors. But none could reach their target. The two missiles fired towards Kuwait either missed the target or tapped lanugo en route. Three missiles that came towards Bahrain were immediately shot lanugo by American and Bahraini air defense. It is fortunate that there is no news of any casualties.
Where did America retaliate?
The Central Command made it well-spoken that radar stations, drone tenancy sites and air defence systems were targeted in Qeshm Island and Goruk areas of Iran. America claims that this whoopee was taken completely in self-defence. Pentagon says Iran downed first US drone and poses threat to ships in Gulf.
What is Iran's stance?
Iranian media have described the US attacks as a uncontrived warlike action. Tehran alleges that America is provoking the situation further. At the same time, Washington says that it will not compromise on the security of its soldiers and allies.
Why the tension plane without the ceasefire?
Even though a armistice has been supposed on the ground, the missile and drone attacks made it well-spoken that both sides are still testing each other. American bases in Kuwait and Bahrain are on alert. Patrolling of warships deployed in the Gulf has moreover been increased. The coming days will decide whether this mismatch subsides or ignites a new fire.
