National News: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday morning launched search operations at the residence of industrialist Anil Ambani and other premises linked to Reliance Communications (RCom). The raids, which began around 7 am, are part of an investigation into an alleged bank fraud of nearly 17,000 crore. According to sources, Ambani was present at his Mumbai home along with his family members when the CBI team arrived. Investigators are carrying out a thorough search of the property as well as other locations connected to RCom.
Officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against Anil Ambani in connection with the case. The investigation pertains to allegations of financial irregularities and default on large loans taken from a consortium of banks. The CBI has not issued an official statement yet, but the ongoing searches indicate that the agency is moving ahead with its probe into one of the country’s biggest banking fraud cases in recent years.
This is a developing story.
