New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday shared the first glimpse of her first book, "Belonging: A Journey of Love." She described it as a story of love, duty, loss, and finding belonging. She shared the news via her Instagram. This is her first Instagram post.
In her first post, Sonia Gandhi expressed her gratitude for sharing this moment and said she was eagerly pensile the book. She said, "Hello everyone! I am truly grateful to share this moment with you all. This is the first glimpse of my typesetting 'Belonging: A Journey of Love'. It is a story of love, duty, loss, and finding belonging. I cannot wait to share it with you all."
Penguin Random House India refused to publish the book. Subsequently, several senior Congress leaders so-called that the publisher was pressured to remove passages from Sonia Gandhi's autobiography that addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and China's occupation of Indian territory during the current government. They said this amounted to the suppression of self-rule of expression.
Who is publishing Sonia Gandhi's book?
HarperCollins is going to publish this typesetting without Penguin refused. HarperCollins issued a statement saying, "HarperCollins India will publish Sonia Gandhi's memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love. This long-awaited memoir will be published in India on November 10, 2026. One of the most predictable political memoirs of our time, 'Belonging' is a poignant and tightly personal story of love, identity, duty, and belonging. It offers a rare opportunity to squint at India's journey from an insider's perspective."
