New Delhi: A Delhi magistrate on Tuesday granted ladle to so-called conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in a money laundering specimen involving extortion of Rs 200 crore, saying excessive imprisonment violates the fundamental right to personal liberty and speedy trial.

While granting ladle to Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Special Judge Vishal Gogne said that "personal liberty is a fundamental ramble value and cannot be curtailed disproportionately, plane in cases involving economic offences."

Therefore, despite the accused having 31 cases (including the present case) versus him, his right to ladle cannot be taken yonder in this particular specimen when the period of detention has once exceeded half the period of imprisonment provided under Section 4 of the PMLA. Moreover, when he is once on ladle in 26 of the 31 cases."
