Delhi is once again under threat. The Delhi High Court received a bomb threat through an email today in the morning hours. The threat resulted in immediate evacuation of judges, lawyers, and staff present in the Delhi court premises. Following the bomb threat, security agencies such as Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads, initiated a thorough search operation and asked for evacuation of the premises.
Reportedly, no explosive device has been found yet from the Delhi High Court. The threat email reportedly did not specifically mention the Delhi High Court by name but only mentioned to a “court”. The email triggered a panic situation and the suspension of court proceedings.
The assigned authorities are looking after the threat with utmost seriousness and investigating the origin of the email.
Reportedly, the threat letter stated that three explosives had been planted in the judge’s room as well as at other locations in the court premises. It further mentioned a warning of evacuating it by 2 pm.
The threat letter also stated “links with the Pakistan ISI cells" and mentioned that “the judge’s chamber will detonate shortly after mid-day Islamic prayers."
