Gujarat Jodo Campaign Sparks a Storm, Kejriwal Calls on Youth to Change the States Power Equation!

Published: Jul 03, 2025

National News: In Ahmedabad, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal kickstarted AAP’s state-wide membership campaign titled ‘Gujarat Jodo’. Urging youth to join via missed call, Kejriwal framed it as a revolution. The number 9512040404 was launched as a gateway to what he called an “honest political movement”. He linked the drive directly to the party's vision for 2027. With a confident tone, Kejriwal said, “This is no less than a freedom struggle for Gujarat’s soul.” The campaign targets 50 lakh new members in a phased rollout. Volunteers will visit rural belts, campuses, and marketplaces to enroll citizens. Digital promotion will parallel grassroots outreach.

Visavadar Win Sparks Political Fire

Referring to AAP’s win in the Visavadar bypoll, Kejriwal declared it the “first crack in the BJP fortress”. He claimed it was not just a victory but “a sign from God”. This bypoll, seen as insignificant by rivals, is now projected as a symbol of change. Kejriwal said, “Visavadar was a semi-final. The final is coming in 2027.” The seat, which AAP clinched in BJP’s heartland, has energized party workers. Senior AAP leaders are now being deployed across Saurashtra. Kejriwal believes this “honest win” will snowball into a wave of political shift.

Sharp Attack on BJP and Congress

In his fiery speech, Kejriwal tore into both BJP and Congress, accusing them of being secret allies. “They are not husband and wife or brother and sister. They are lovers meeting in secret,” he said. He alleged that the two parties have jointly looted Gujarat for three decades. Congress was dubbed “BJP’s pocket partner”, and accused of fielding weak candidates. The speech drew laughter, but also hit a serious note. “This unholy alliance must end for Gujarat’s future,” Kejriwal insisted. He claimed only AAP offers a true alternative for governance.

Governance Failures Cited Boldly

Kejriwal listed Gujarat’s infrastructure and welfare failures as proof of BJP’s misrule. He pointed to broken roads, power outages, and flash floods in Surat. “Three and a half hours from Rajkot to Junagadh—what progress are they talking about?” he asked. The AAP leader blamed 30 years of neglect and arrogance. Kejriwal argued that development in Gujarat has been superficial and urban-centric. He said only AAP can decentralize real development. The party is planning a state audit of public infrastructure if voted to power.

2027 Polls Framed as Final Battle

Declaring 2027 as a historic election, Kejriwal said, “The throne will shake when people rise.” He claimed AAP’s clean image and grassroots workers will change Gujarat’s destiny. The party aims to field fresh candidates with clean backgrounds. “Our party belongs to the people, not dynasties,” he said. Preparations for booth-level strategy have begun, with Delhi and Punjab teams aiding the effort. AAP leaders are also eyeing municipal and panchayat polls for practice rounds. Kejriwal predicted a “complete sweep” in many rural pockets.

Youth Pushed to Lead the Movement

Kejriwal directly appealed to Gujarat’s youth, urging them to lead this “revolution of honesty”. “Give us two years, and we’ll change 30 years of decay,” he said. He criticized other parties for being “run by families, for families”. In contrast, AAP offers platforms for common people, students, and professionals. The campaign includes special outreach to ITIs, universities, and job-seeking youth. AAP plans leadership workshops and training sessions from August. Kejriwal warned, “If youth don’t act now, the next 30 years will be worse.”

C.R. Patil, BJP Face Direct Heat

Without naming him directly at first, Kejriwal accused BJP Gujarat chief C.R. Patil of engineering defections. “Is breaking MLAs a badge of pride or a mark of failure?” he asked. Later, naming Patil, he said BJP’s politics has become a circus of manipulation. Kejriwal questioned why Gujarat’s top leaders weren’t solving the water crisis or unemployment. He insisted the AAP model—education, health, and jobs—will replace “jumlas and TV ads”. “This is not a campaign, it’s a people’s uprising,” he said, ending with slogans of “Jai Hind, Jai Gujarat”.
