The India Meteorological Department has forecast that Mumbai and the Konkan region will protract to wits heavy to very heavy rainfall during the first week of July. Strong westerly winds are expected to intensify the rainfall activity.
According to reports, trees were uprooted in several areas, causing traffic jams. A tree fell on a main road near the DN Nagar Metro Station in Andheri, blocking the route. Another large tree fell on Swami Vivekananda (SV) Road in Andheri, blocking a major roadway. Fire brigade teams and societal staff, withal with machinery, were deployed to remove trash and restore traffic. Several areas, including BKC, were heavily waterlogged.
