Himachal Accident: A horrific road accident took place on Independence Day in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. A pickup truck lost control and fell into a deep gorge near Jadrangal on the Dharamshala road. Four pilgrims died in this horrific accident, while more than 25 people were injured.
According to the police, these devotees were returning to Moga in Punjab after visiting Mata Chamunda Devi. A woman died on the spot in the accident, while other injured persons were immediately taken to the nearest hospital.
Punjab Pilgrims Killed in Kangra
The deceased have been identified as Kiran (35), Sukhjinder Singh (35), Jagseer Singh (38), and Paramjit Kaur (35), residents of Bhagike village in the Moga district of Punjab. Police said that relief and rescue operations were started as soon as the information about the accident was received. The injured were immediately admitted to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital in Tanda. Where three other injured people died in the hospital.
The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment. Police have registered an FIR in this case and started an investigation. Officials say that the causes of the accident are being investigated.
Horrible accident in Rajasthan
Apart from this, another tragic accident took place on August 13 in the Dausa district of Rajasthan. Here a pickup van collided with a truck parked on the service lane of Manoharpur Highway.
In this accident, 11 people from Uttar Pradesh, including seven children, died, while eight others were seriously injured. According to the Superintendent of Police of Dausa, the vehicle was returning to its village in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh after visiting the Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temples. The accident happened around 4 am.

The deceased have been identified as Mishti (1), Babu (3), Poorvi (6), Lakshya (6), Vaishnavi (7), Mehak (7), Saloni (9), Sheela (20), Priyanka (25), Seema (25), and Sonam (32). Police said there were 20 people in the pickup. Eight of the injured are in critical condition. Questions raised on road safety These accidents have once again raised questions on road safety and negligence of drivers. The administration has appealed to people to follow traffic rules and travel safely.
