Mumbai: There is big news from Mazgaon zone of Mumbai. Here, there have been allegations of eggs stuff thrown during the inrush procession of the Ganpati idol, without which tension spread in the area. The incident is stuff reported on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Without the uproar, the police had to reach the spot and increase security.
What happened in Mazgaon?
According to the local people, a procession was stuff taken out at night for the inrush of Ganpati Bappa. People were bringing the idol with drums. It is so-called that then some people from a nearby towers threw eggs at the procession. As soon as this news spread, wrongness spread among the people present there. Within no time, a large number of people gathered and sloganeering started.
Why did the tension between the two groups increase?
After the egg was thrown, the people participating in the procession protested. People from the other side moreover came forward. This led to an wrangling and unpeace like situation between the two groups. Seeing the situation worsening, the police were immediately informed. The police reached the spot and brought the situation under tenancy without inveigling both parties.
What did the local people demand?
The people of the zone and the festival committee have expressed displeasure over this incident. Public Festival Committee Chairman Hitesh Jadhav said that this is an wade on the faith of the festival. They have demanded from the police that the accused should be unprotected soon without checking CCTV and strict whoopee should be taken. Local people say that the police have unpreventable them of action.

The police gravity has been increased in Mazgaon without the incident. The police are continuously patrolling to ensure that no new clashes take place. At present the situation is wifely but tension remains. Till the time of writing the news, the police had not given any official statement on this.

This is not the first time. Earlier in August 2022 also, a specimen of eggs stuff thrown at the Ganesh procession in Nagpada-Kamatipura zone of Mumbai had come to light. Even then there was a lot of mayhem and the police underdeveloped the accused and registered an FIR. At present the police are investigating the matter and efforts are stuff made to maintain peace in the area.
