New Delhi: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day (IYD), Prime Minister Narendra Modi led celebrations at Kolkata’s Red Road on Sunday morning, while taking part in a mega event as thousands joined open-air yoga sessions wideness the state for the first time.

On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, PM Narendra Modi performed yoga with the public in Kolkata. He was accompanied by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and several members of his cabinet. In his inaugural address, PM Modi said that "Our target must be to be increasingly energetic at 50 than we were at 30. We must be increasingly resistant to lifestyle diseases at 70 than we were at 50."
"Yoga is not just for a largest personal life but for the world's future," PM Modi said.
The yoga celebrations started at 6:30 am when the Prime Minister reached the venue from Lok Bhawan.
