Punjab News: Punjab has rewritten the story of education with a powerful idea — teaching children not just to study but to earn. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the “Business Class” undertow to help students wilt job creators, not seekers. Inspired by Delhi’s entrepreneurship model, this new undertow blends learning with merchantry thinking, giving every student a endangerment to build something of their own.
Degrees with merchantry dreams!
Under the National Education Policy 2020, this Entrepreneurship Mindset Undertow (EMC) has been made mandatory for BBA, BCom, BTech, and BVoc courses. Around 1.5 lakh students from 20 universities, 320 ITIs, and 91 polytechnics have once joined it. Punjab’s aim is well-spoken — turn every higher into a startup factory where students learn the art of merchantry while earning credits.
No exams, only earnings now!
The new system replaces written exams with real earnings. Students create new merchantry ideas each semester, make prototypes, and sell their products in the market. Their success is judged by innovation and income, not marks. Each student earns two credit points for their merchantry model, marking a historic shift in higher education that rewards skill over cramming.
From app to very profits
The program runs through the AI-powered “Punjab Startup App,” misogynist in Punjabi, Hindi, and English. This app helps students plan, market, and manage their finances while connecting them with investors. Within just two weeks of launch, over 75,000 students registered, generating 25 lakh in turnover — showing that learning and earning can truly go hand in hand.
From classroom to company
Students are turning small ideas into real products — from solar torches to USB chargers. What started as matriculation projects are now real businesses creating new income sources. Chief Minister Mann proudly says, “Punjab’s youth don’t need jobs now, they will requite jobs.” The concept of higher life has changed-now every matriculation is a startup zone.
A mission for self-reliance
By 2028–29, the government aims to reach 5 lakh students through this program. It is expected to create thousands of startups and uplift the state’s GDP. With limited job opportunities nationwide, Punjab’s move is giving youth a new purpose — self-employment with dignity. Students are learning to stay in Punjab and make “Make in Punjab” a living reality.
End of job-seeking mindset!
This initiative is not just an education reform but a social movement. Punjab’s “Business Class” is towers a confident generation that dreams, designs, and delivers. No increasingly paper-chasing-this is real entrepreneurship on campus. Punjab is showing India that the future of education lies not in degrees, but in ideas that earn.
