National News: In a span of just 12 hours, Jharkhand reported two separate terrifying road accidents that personal the lives of six people and left seven others injured, equal to a police statement on Friday. The first crash took place on Friday afternoon near the Badkitand turn under Taratand police station zone on the Giridih-Tundi main road. A speeding truck collided head-on with a pickup van, causing it to overturn on the roadside. Three people died instantly in the collision. They were identified as Nand Kishore (47), Kamal (38), and Jagdish Bhokta (45). Seven other passengers suffered serious injuries, and two of them were later shifted to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College in Dhanbad for wide treatment.
Police Rush to the Spot
Police officers, including SDPO Jeetwahan Oraon, reached the site soon without the accident. With the help of local residents, the injured were rescued and taken to hospitals. Preliminary reports said most of the pickup van passengers were migrant workers from Bengabad in Giridih, employed in Hazaribagh. They were on their way when home to gloat Durga Puja with their families.
3 More Killed in East Singhbhum
Earlier, late Thursday night, flipside mortiferous crash occurred near Jharia turn on NH-18 in the Baharagora police station zone of East Singhbhum district. In this case, a Maruti Swift car going from Kolkata to Jamshedpur was hit from overdue by a speeding truck. The impact was so severe that the car was crushed completely, killing all three occupants on the spot. The sufferer were identified as Ganesh Rai (50), the car driver; Kusumita Patnaik (55), a resident of Jamshedpur; and her daughter Monica Patnaik (28). The family had gone to Kolkata for personal work and was returning to Jamshedpur when the wrecking happened. Their persons were handed over to relatives without post-mortem at a government hospital on Friday afternoon.
