New Delhi: Following orders from the Delhi High Court, climate objector Sonam Wangchuk was moved from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Tuesday evening. Wangchuk, who is on his 24th day of a hunger strike in support of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) student demonstration, was relocated as part of the court's directive.

Upon arrival, hospital officials confirmed that Wangchuk was admitted directly to Intensive Superintendency Unit (ICU) 8. A specialized team of physicians, led by Dr. Sushila Kataria, an Internal Medicine Specialist at Medanta, has taken tuition of his superintendency and initiated treatment.

To prevent any untoward incidents, law enforcement agencies have drastically increased security measures wideness the premises. A senior police officer noted that a substantial gravity has been stationed both inside and outside Medanta Hospital to monitor the surroundings continuously.
“In view of security concerns, security arrangements at the hospital have been significantly strengthened, with a heavy police gravity deployed in and virtually Medanta Hospital. Our police team keeping a tropical watch from every angle,” said a senior police officer.
