National News: The political turmoil in Bihar politics has once again intensified. The verbal war between the two big faces of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)—Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav—has now come out in the open. After Tej Pratap's displeasure over the 'Jaichand' comment and his statements, Tejashwi Yadav's sharp retort has now come to the fore. Tejashwi not only called his statement indiscipline but also supported his father Lalu Yadav's decision to expel him from the party.
Tejashwi said, 'The decision to oust him from the party is right.'
Speaking to the media in Patna on Monday, Tejashwi Yadav said, "Discipline is paramount in the party. It is right to show the way out to the person who hurts the dignity of the organization. I am with this decision of Lalu ji." This statement of Tejashwi is a clear indication that now organizational strictness is dominating in RJD instead of family harmony.
Tej Pratap's 'Jaichand' post created a ruckus
Tej Pratap Yadav had posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) a day earlier and called some party leaders 'Jaichand.' This was considered a sign that some people in the party were trying to marginalize him. Although he did not name anyone, the target was clearly towards the Tejashwi faction.
Tejashwi also attacked the Muzaffarpur incident
Tejashwi Yadav also strongly attacked the Nitish government over the recent rape case in Muzaffarpur. He said, "Bihar's double-engine government has completely failed. There is no trace of law and order left, and no accountability is visible in the administration. Even the Chief Minister did not express any condolences on this incident."
No one went to inquire about the victim's family
Tejashwi directly alleged that "the Chief Minister and his two deputies are busy only in political programs, but no one has time to go to the victim's house. There is no sympathizer left for the people of Bihar." He called it the height of administrative insensitivity.
Is RJD sure to split?
Differences between Tej Pratap and Tejashwi have been well known for a long time. But now, the way the 'Jaichand' controversy has escalated and Tejashwi has given a blunt statement about Tej Pratap, it has become clear that the walls of nepotism politics in RJD have started cracking.
While the internal strife of the RJD is raising questions about the future of the party, the people of Bihar are waiting for action in heinous cases like Muzaffarpur. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether Lalu Yadav is able to maintain a balance between his two sons or the party reaches a decisive turning point.
